Botanical Name: Alocasia x Wentii, Common Name: Wentii Alocasia)
Appearance:
The Wentii Alocasia is characterized by its large, glossy, dark green, and arrow-shaped leaves. Paired with a metallic purple-bronze color on the underside. Known for being one of the hardier varieties, it's also known as the "Hardy Elephant Ear." This is a fast-growing plant and each leaf can reach about a foot in length.
Ideal Growing Conditions:
This Alocasia thrives in bright, indirect light and appreciates a warm, humid environment that mimics its tropical origins. Keep the soil consistently moist but well-draining, and avoid letting it fully dry out. Humidity levels above 60% are ideal, making it a great candidate for a humidifier or placement in a naturally humid space. Protect it from direct harsh sunlight, which can scorch the delicate variegated portions of its leaves, and bring it indoors if temperatures drop below 60°F.
Unique Qualities:
The Alocasia Wentii is known for its very large, arrow-shaped, dark green leaves that are accented by a purple bronzy underside. This plant can also grow upwards of 5 feet tall in optimal conditions.
Note About Variation:
Please note that each Wentii is unique, leaf size and color will vary based on individual growth and seasonal availability.
