Alocasia Dragon Scale

(Botanical Name: Alocasia x Baginda, Common Name: Dragon Scale Alocasia)

Appearance:
A Dragon Scale Alocasia is a unique houseplant known for its textured green leaves that resemble dragon scales, with a dark green, almost black, vein pattern. Growing upright to around 2-3 ft tall, the compact nature of this plant and its love for humidity makes it a great addition to a terrarium or bathroom. 

Ideal Growing Conditions:
This Alocasia thrives in bright, indirect light and appreciates a warm, humid environment that mimics its tropical origins. Keep the soil consistently moist but well-draining, and avoid letting it fully dry out. Humidity levels above 60% are ideal, making it a great candidate for a humidifier or placement in a naturally humid space. Protect it from direct harsh sunlight, which can scorch the delicate variegated portions of its leaves, and bring it indoors if temperatures drop below 60°F.

The Dragon Scale is easily recognized by its textured green leaves paired with a very prominent dark colored vein that gives the leaves the look of dragon scales.
